The name of our endeavor is based on the familiar story of Stone Soup that can be found on the attached flyer describing the project. We believe that 1) it is no longer possible to rely totally on either Federal or State funding for grants; 2) our communities have resources that are not known or appreciated; and 3) the Stone Soup Project can assist communities in finding how, by collaborating with their neighbors, they can create restorative communities based on resources found within their own communities.
The Stone Soup Project is currently seeking one or more community partners. A community partner is a team of community representatives who will be trained to have conversations within their communities that can surface the collective wisdom, will and resources that can be amplified to create a restorative community. Together we can co-create safe communities, and reduce the damaging effects of incarceration on youth, while promoting community-driven, cost-effective policies to prevent and reduce delinquency and violence.
Our next opportunity for further information and understanding will be a Webinar at 9am on Wednesday May 2nd. To Register go to: https://www4.gotomeeting.com/register/596303719.
